LTA Academy actively reaches out to the world via international
conferences, workshops and exhibitions. Since its launch, the Academy
has organised and supported several transport-related international
conferences and workshops.
In November 2008, the Academy organised
the inaugural World Urban Transport
Leaders Summit in Singapore. This
premier summit was attended by some
120 urban transport leaders, senior
officials, transport professionals and
leading academics from 30 countries.
The highlights of the summit were policy
dialogues and four plenary forums chaired
by members of LTA’s International
Advisory Panel.
The Academy also managed the
land transport track and exhibition for the
premier World Cities Summit 2008. Held
in June 2008 in Singapore, the event drew
several hundred participants from across
the globe, including ministers, government
policymakers, mayors, senior city officials,
urban leaders and planning professionals.
In September 2009, the Academy jointly organised
and international seminar with Tsinghua University, China, on "Green Transport for Growing Cities".
