International Conferences

LTA Academy actively reaches out to the world via international conferences, workshops and exhibitions. Since its launch, the Academy has organised and supported many transport-related international conferences and workshops.

In November 2008, LTA Academy organised the inaugural World Urban Transport Leaders Summit (WUTLS) 2008 in Singapore. This premier summit was attended by some 120 urban transport leaders, senior officials, transport professionals and leading academics from 30 countries. The highlights of the summit were policy dialogues and four plenary forums chaired by members of LTA's International Advisory Panel.

The Academy also managed the land transport track and exhibition for the premier World Cities Summit (WCS) 2008. Held in June 2008 in Singapore, the event drew several hundred participants from across the globe, including ministers, government policymakers, mayors, senior city officials, urban leaders and planning professionals.

In September 2009, the Academy jointly organised and international seminar with Tsinghua University, China, on Green Transport for Growing Cities.

On 30 June and 1 July 2010, the LTA Academy organised the World Urban Transport Leaders Summit (WUTLS) 2010 at Suntec Convention and Exhibition Centre in Singapore. This 2-day event was attended by more than 300 participants.

WUTLS 2010 was co-located with the World Cities Summit (WCS), which brings together practitioners and policy makers with leading experts in their field to identify innovative solutions to the most pressing challenges facing cities today. The theme for WULTS 2010 "Transforming Urban Transport for Liveable and Sustainable Cities" ties in well with the WCS theme of "Liveable and Sustainable Cities for the Future".

The World Urban Transit Conference (WUTC) 2010 was held from 20 to 22 October, 2010 at Resorts World Singapore. It was jointly organised by LTA Academy, MSI Global Pte Ltd and the Association of Consulting Engineers Singapore. The theme for the Conference revolves around "Sustainable and Innovative Urban Rail Transportation System".

More than 600 delegates from 20 countries gathered at the Conference to discuss and exchange ideas on sustainable and innovative urban rail transportation systems. Planners, consultants, contractors, government officials and researchers from around the world discussed the challenges in railway infrastructure development and find solutions to improve the quality and effectiveness of transport system of cities.

Urban Sustainability R&D Congress 2011 was held on 27-28 June 2011 at Biopolis, Singapore. This Urban Sustainability R&D Congress provides a new national platform for government agencies, research institutes and private sector companies to continue this story of collaboration, innovation and integration. The theme of the inaugural Urban Sustainability R&D Congress is "Collaborate, Innovate, Integrate". LTA Academy was responsible for the Urban Mobility Track, held concurrently with ... on 28 June 2011.
